The Waters Edge
This range is inspired by the natural hues of blue and aqua from the crashing waves of the ocean, as well as the strong pattern within geometric prints. Shapes interlocking and overlapping, bundles of colour crashing into one another, a warm vibe to boost any mood. The rugs are designed to lift anyones spirit and keep their mind o any hard times in their life, to get lost in the moment of the feeling of the design. The Institution these rugs proposed to be placed is The Chris OBrien Lifehouse located across from RPA Hospital. It is an integrated and patient-focused centre of excellence, offering everything a cancer patient needs in one place, including treatment, research, education, complementary therapies and psychosocial support. Currently the building is simple in design with textures such as of glass, steel, concrete and wood and a basic palette of white, grey and brown. With the placement of these rugs, the mood of not only patients but visitors and employees of the space will be positively lifted due to the warm and exciting colours and patterns. These rugs can be used in a range of areas and at a number of scales whilst still having a large impact on the audience. These can include; a large scale wall art on the entry stairs leading from the ground floor foyer to the first floor, medium scale floor rug for waiting and relaxation areas and small scale wall art for private treatment rooms.
