Choice and Impact
'Choice and Impact' is a textile and graphic design project designed in response to climate-driven ocean change. Three data visualisations document the ongoing destruction of coral reefs, despite the reliance of the ecosystem upon them, and have determined the design of a sustainably-produced apparel collection and marketing campaign. The project encourages consumers to make sustainable consumption choices for the resolution of the issues presented. The design elements have been inspired by coral forms and textures. The use of thermochromic pigments also imitates the bleaching process, as light pink hues fade to white when temperatures exceeding 30C are encountered.
