The Shareable City
'The Shareable City' analyses how public spaces in urban contexts can be designed to adopt the principals of the share economy in order to fulfil the objectives of new urbanism. The share economy is a viable solution to rapid population growth as it allows for liveable, compact and cohesive densification. At the core of Marianne Glinka's project is an analysis of how both tangible and intangible share economies can establish a cohesive interface. The tangible share economy is comprised of multi-use and commercial infrastructure that is accessible to the public. The intangible share economy is a virtual city comprising a range of online sharing platforms. Share Square demonstrates how third spaces can be designed to incorporate the intangible share economy.
