'Good Place, No Place' is an exploration into the concept of Utopia. Through photographic digital manipulation, this project interprets three natural utopias, each captured inside a bubble. In this work, Isabella Sceats explores the dichotomy in Thomas More's notion of utopia being both a eu-topos (good place), and ou-topos (no place). By containing the works inside bubbles, Isabella suggests these places can pop and disappear. In doing so, Isabella examines how we perceive the notion of an ideal world, as well as the possibility that the perfect world may never truly exist.
