'Still Life' is a personal, sculptural interpretation of domestic suburbia. It is a direct response to the photographic series Ecosystems of Domestic Suburbia, which had left the artist questioning an absence of self and self-made marks in the documented landscape. The family dinner table is set with a synthetic food, floral, and decorative composition which draws inspiration from classical still life, particularly the 16th and 17th century European variety.
